What began all those years ago still feels as vivid as ever, a reminder that true love doesn’t fade with time, it deepens.
Caroyln and Pete made sure their wedding date was on 4/4 at 4pm, so Pete would never forget it, but it was the proposal that truly set their story in motion. On a trip to Mount Coot-tha, nerves got the better of him, and in a moment they still laugh about, he asked Carolyn to be his “husband.” Completely surprised and caught off guard, she had no idea what was coming. Knowing she had always dreamed of a cluster halo engagement ring, Pete chose a piece from Wallace Bishop, later adding an eternity band to complete it, along with their wedding rings. From the very first moment, Carolyn adored her ring, and nearly 30 years on, she wouldn’t change a thing. Chosen with trust passed down from Pete’s mum, it remains just as beautiful today, a timeless symbol of a decision he’s never once doubted.

Wanting every detail to hold significance, Scott worked closely with Wallace Bishop to design a custom engagement ring, carefully selecting each element to ensure it told their story as beautifully as the proposal itself.

From her great-grandmother's hands to her own, Savanna's Bluebird of Happiness brooch is a touching reminder of love that endures through generations.
The Bluebird of Happiness has been part of Wallace Bishop’s story for over a century, a timeless symbol of hope. It began in 1917, when Wallace Bishop Snr and his wife, May, combined his goldsmithing with her delicate enamelling to create the Bluebird, inspired by the belief that bluebirds bring happiness and good fortune. After World War II, the Bluebird of Happiness Brooch was gifted to thousands of children, often as their first piece of jewellery from someone who loved them.
Today, we proudly continue this tradition, keeping the joy of the Bluebird alive for new hearts and memories. Our beautifully recreated Bluebird of Happiness Brooch is crafted with enamel and pre-tarnished sterling silver, intentionally darkened to create contrast and highlight the intricate details. The finish gives the piece depth, character, and a vintage look, honouring its heritage while carrying the story forward.
