Yes, we accept all types of gold, from broken, unused or unwanted jewellery for recycling! All gold pieces can be traded and recycled.
Can I Recycle Jewellery with Gemstones?
While gemstones are not eligible for credit, we can help remove and return them safely. Our skilled in-house workshop can professionally unset your gemstones upon request. Additional charges may apply depending on the design and number of gemstones in your jewellery.
How Can I Identify What My Jewellery Is Made Of?
Unsure of the material? No problem! Simply bring your jewellery to us, and we can perform a machine analysis at our Brisbane workshop to accurately identify your jewellery's metal composition.
Do You Accept White, Rose, and Yellow Gold?
Yes, we accept all types of gold as part of our recycling program. Whether it’s yellow, white, or rose gold, we recycle all gold that is 9-carat or higher.
Are There Any Metal Exclusions for Recycling?
We do not accept silver, platinum, gold-plated metals, or dental gold for recycling. These materials are not eligible for our recycling program.
How Is the Value of My Gold Jewellery Calculated?
The value of your gold jewellery is determined by its gold content. First, we send your gold pieces to our Brisbane workshop, where they undergo a professional evaluation. Our expert team carefully assesses and processes the jewellery to determine the gold percentage. Once this is established, we calculate the pure gold weight based on the jewellery's overall weight. Finally, we provide you with an accurate quote based on how you wish to receive payment.
How Do I Receive Payment for My Gold Jewellery?
You can choose from two payment options:
Direct Deposit: This can be processed virtually.
In-Store Gift Card: Receive a Wallace Bishop in-store card. You can pick it up at the same store where you drop off your jewellery.
What Can I Use My In-Store Gift Card For?
Your in-store gift card can be used in many ways:
- Purchase new jewellery
- Pay for jewellery repairs
- Design a custom piece
- Settle your layby
- Gift it to someone special
