Description
The Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Lou Gehrig Limited Edition is a timepiece that celebrates one of baseball's greatest legends. Limited to just 2,130 pieces worldwide — honouring the record number of consecutive games Lou Gehrig played for the New York Yankees — this watch is as rare as it is meaningful. At 40mm, the stainless steel case sits comfortably on the wrist and suits a wide range of styles, from casual to smart.
The vertically brushed silver dial takes inspiration from Gehrig's famous nickname, "The Iron Horse", while the blue accents and railway-style minute track pay tribute to the iconic Yankees colour palette. Look closely and you will spot the number 4 highlighted in blue on the date ring — a nod to Gehrig's retired jersey number, the first ever retired in Major League Baseball. The signature Oris pointer date function uses a central hand to point to the date around the edge of the dial, giving the watch its distinctive and instantly recognisable look. Inside, the automatic Oris Calibre 754 keeps the watch running without a battery, with a 41-hour power reserve so it stays running through a weekend without wearing it. The watch is water resistant to 50 metres, making it suitable for everyday wear including hand washing and light splashes. It comes with two straps — a double-stitched brown leather strap reminiscent of a baseball glove, and a NATO strap in Yankees blue, white and grey — giving you the flexibility to switch up the look.
