Description
The Luminox Atacama Field XL.1961 is a rugged field watch inspired by the Atacama Desert in Chile, one of the driest places on earth. This version comes in a full blackout design, and its textured black dial reflects the rough, rocky terrain of the desert landscape. The large dial shows both 12-hour and 24-hour time for easy reading, while a red-tipped seconds hand and a red arrow next to the date window at 3 o'clock add useful pops of colour. The all-black look is sleek and low-profile, making it easy to wear for outdoor adventures, work or every day.
The 43mm case is made from CARBONOX™, a carbon-based material developed by Luminox that is extremely durable yet very light. The whole watch weighs just 71 grams, so it stays comfortable on the wrist all day. The dial is protected by sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, which is highly scratch resistant and reduces glare. A protected crown and black stainless steel case back add to its rugged build, and with 100m water resistance, it's suitable for swimming and water sports. Like every Luminox watch, it features Luminox Light Technology. Tiny self-powered tritium tubes on the hands and markers glow constantly for up to 25 years, so you can read the time in complete darkness without pressing a button or charging the glow in sunlight. A Swiss quartz movement keeps accurate time with long battery life, and the black rubber strap features a textile top with tone-on-tone stitching and a CARBONOX™ signature buckle.
