The Timex 1983 E-Line Automatic Reissue TW2W70800 revives a classic dress watch design from the early '80s, distinguished by its rounded square case affectionately nicknamed the "TV Dial."
At the heart of the watch is a Miyota calibre 8215 automatic movement, a reliable Japanese-made mechanism with 21 jewels that keeps the watch running smoothly using the natural motion of the wrist rather than a battery. This marks the first automatic movement used across Timex's line of vintage reissues. A discreet date window sits neatly at 3 o'clock, adjusted easily via the fluted crown, while the silver-tone dial keeps the design clean, minimalist, and easy to read at a glance.
Completing the profile is a vintage-style acrylic crystal, chosen to stay true to the character of watches from this era, along with a screwed case back that helps the watch achieve a genuine 50 metres of water resistance. That means it can handle an accidental splash or even a shower, though it isn't intended for swimming or extended water exposure.
