The Seiko Presage HCC005J reinterprets key design elements of the 1913 Laurel, Japan's first wristwatch, through a pristine white hand-made enamel dial. Stylised Italic Arabic numerals and a distinctive red "12" marker echo the original Laurel's design, with the enamel dial produced by master artisans using centuries-old techniques. Powering the watch is Seiko's automatic Calibre 6R5H, offering manual winding and a 72-hour power reserve. The 39.6mm stainless steel case is finished with a super-hard coating and shaped to enhance the depth and dimensionality of the handcrafted dial, topped with dual-curved sapphire crystal featuring an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface. The movement is visible through a screw-down exhibition case back. The watch is fitted with a supple, oil-tanned cow leather strap sourced from a Leather Working Group-certified tannery, secured with a three-fold deployant clasp with push-button release. It's water resistant to 30 metres, reflecting its nature as a refined dress watch rather than one built for water exposure.
