Description
The Seiko Presage HCC006J reinterprets key design elements of the 1913 Laurel, Japan's first wristwatch, through a black urushi lacquer dial — the first time Seiko has interpreted the historic Laurel design using this traditional Japanese lacquering technique. Breguet-style numerals finished in gold powder lacquer add a refined contrast against the deep black dial. Powering the watch is Seiko's automatic Calibre 6R5H, offering manual winding and a 72-hour power reserve.
The 39.6mm steel case receives a warm yellow gold-coloured plating, shaped to enhance the depth and dimensionality of the handcrafted dial, and is topped with dual-curved sapphire crystal featuring an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface. The movement is visible through a screw-down exhibition case back.
The watch is fitted with a supple, oil-tanned cow leather strap sourced from a Leather Working Group-certified tannery, secured with a three-fold deployant clasp with push-button release. It's water resistant to 30 metres, reflecting its nature as a refined dress watch rather than one built for water exposure.
