Built with a large high-visibility digital display and rugged black resin construction, the GW9400Y-1D is designed for easy readability and reliable operation in harsh conditions. Its mud-resistant structure helps prevent dirt and debris from entering the watch, while G-SHOCK shock resistance protects against impacts and rough terrain. The watch is also resistant to low temperatures down to -10°C, making it suitable for alpine and winter environments.

Sunrise and sunset display functionality further enhances navigation and planning during hikes and expeditions.
