Description
The King Seiko VANAC SLA087, nicknamed "Tokyo Sunrise," reflects daybreak stretching out across the Tokyo horizon through a silver-white dial. A three-dimensional horizontal stripe pattern combines with a set-off ring framing the applied indices, with a gold V-shaped 12 o'clock index and matching seconds hand, both nods to the VANAC name.
Powering the watch is Seiko's automatic Calibre 8L45, based on Grand Seiko's 9S65 architecture, offering hacking seconds, hand-winding and a 72-hour power reserve. The 41mm stainless steel case combines mirror and hairline finishing, a hallmark of the original King Seiko models, and is topped with a box-shaped sapphire crystal featuring anti-reflective coating on the inner surface. The screw-down crown and case back complete the watch, with the movement visible through the see-through case back — the first time King Seiko has featured this on a production model. The watch is fitted with a matching stainless steel bracelet, secured with a deployment clasp with push-button release. It's water resistant to 100 metres (10 bar).
