Description
The Seiko Prospex "Speedtimer" SSC957P is a Datsun 240Z Limited Edition, one of only 4,000 pieces worldwide, honouring the legendary partnership between Seiko and Datsun dating back to the Datsun 240Z's East African Safari Rally win in 1971.
The DATSUN logo sits proudly at 12 o'clock, while the historic winning car is engraved on the screwed case back. Powering the watch is Seiko's solar-charged Calibre V192, drawing power from any light source with no battery changes required, offering an accuracy of ±15 seconds per month and a 6-month power reserve when fully charged. The black dial, highlighted with vibrant red accents, features a chronograph measuring up to 60 minutes in 1/5-second increments, a 24-hour hand, small seconds hand, power reserve indicator and date display.
The 41.4mm stainless steel case is topped with domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface, and paired with a two-tone aluminium tachymeter bezel inspired by classic rally instruments. LumiBrite treatment on the hands and indices ensures legibility in low light, and the watch is water resistant to 100 metres. The watch is fitted with a matching two-tone stainless steel bracelet with titanium carbide coating, secured with a three-fold clasp and safety pushers.
