The 62GS debuted Grand Seiko’s first automatic movement. This new creation uses a modern interpretation of the 62GS case design along with a dial that conveys a unique moment in the seasonal landscape of Japan. In a first for a 62GS model that is not a limited edition, 18k yellow gold has been used to craft the case. The dial’s light-green colour evokes the budding leaves that follow the cherry blossoms at the end of spring, which glimmer in the light as they reflect morning sun. With its soft comfort and easy wearability, the leather strap harmonizes with the dial’s subtle colour to impart an elegant impression. Created by the skilled craftspeople of the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi, the Hi-Beat Calibre 9S85 achieves its stable precision thanks to its high frequency of 36,000 vph.
